Description
One of the outstanding Austrian contemparies of Beethoven, Hummel was renowned throughout Europe as a virtuoso pianist, possessing a phenomenal technique. He also composed extensively, and in his later years he published a celebrated tutor, Klavierschule, i n which, among other things, he advocated a rational system of fingering. The pieces in this selection have been taken from this work and from Six pieces tres faciles, Op. 52, published as part of his series Repertoire demusique pour les dames.
