Dove: The Sun Has Burst the Sky

The poems in this cycle were chosen to celebrate the life and character of Hannah Shaw, who sang with the Bath Camerata until her very early death in 2019. Hannah was a talented musician and singing was her lifelong passion. She had a gift for languages: her fluent Spanish enabled her to teach in Spain and Peru. She made everyone laugh with her quick sense of humour and wonderful way with words. It was always fun to be around her. She loved children, and dancing, and life itself. The Sun Has Burst the Sky is a serenade to music, and to singing and dancing. Jonathan Dove, June 2023
