Description
Composer's Note:
VARIATIONS FOR PIANO (1967; rev. 1982) is a student work composed when I began private study with a teacher. My teacher, Myron Fink, a brilliant musician and composer, identified some compositional "tricks" I tended to rely on. His assignment was to compose a set of variations for piano in which each variation was distinctly different from the others. Variations for Piano was the result. After making a few revisions I decided it was good enough to be seen. The Theme is followed by twelve variations, with the last being a four-voice fugue.
