Description
Bordertown (San Antonio) is a musical portrait of Saturday night in San Antonio, Texas. Born and raised in Fort Worth, Texas, Julius was particularly proud of this work, At its core, Bordertown is a two-voice AABA song. The bass line is fully composed by Hemphill, outlining the harmony and voice leading. Julius will perform Bordertown in all his small group contexts, from duo on up, and he will make a stunning rendition of the work for the World Saxophone Quartet. It becomes his main solo feature on soprano saxophone.
