Description
In the Concerto Op 9 No. 9 the violins are played unison in the quick outside movements. After the first movement which figures the typical Venetian dominating triad motive, there follows a three part Piano section during which it appears occasionally as a contrasting pair. As usual the five part writing is not exceeded in the Allegro movements while in the slow middle movement it becomes six part in a lightly imitating style. Since the figurations of the solo oboes are well contrasted with the strings, the double bass may play throughout including the Piano sections.
