Description
Music for a Lovelorn Lenanshee by Jonathan Dove is a 10-minute work for oboe (or clarinet) and piano which develops the traditional Irish song My Lagan Love about a 'Lenanshee', a fairy mistress, into a jig and other dances.
The original version of the work was commissioned by the Park Lane Group with funds provided by the London Arts Board, and premiered in 1994. The version for clarinet and piano was first performed on the 17 July 2019 by Sarah Thurlow (clarinet) and Michael Hampton (piano) at King's Lynn Town Hall, as part of the King's Lynn Festival 2019.
This edition comprises the piano score and clarinet parts in B-flat and in A, enabling the player to decide for the more convenient transposition.
