A short play is a piece that seeks to explore contrasting gestures, united by common characteristics. The initial gesture, which is freer and-flatter, moves on to an energetic and rigorous type of gesture. The final part of the piece, which is calmer and more fluid, serves as a link between the two previous gestures, where silence assumes particular relevance.

At certain points in the piece, the notation allows for greater interpretative freedom.

Jogo breve is a tribute to György Kurtág, based on his String Quartet Officium breve , Op. 28.
