Description
Haydn composed his four-movement Salve Regina at Eisenstadt in 1770, No. 71. It is distinguished by its use of the organ as a solo instrument. Here Haydn proves himself a master of the musical setting of the Marian text. Originally written for four solo singers, it may also be performed chorally.
