Description
Suite for Solo Cello by Sally Beamish is a contemporary work for solo cello in five movements. It was written to be performed with works by Britten and Bach and therefore stylistic elements have been used that are typical for both composers. Suite for Solo Cello was commissioned by Ursula Smith in memory of cellist Kevin McCrae with funding from the RVW Trust and PRS Music and was first performed at the Swaledale Festival in 2013.
