Description
Felix can claim the credit of having ushered in the Bach-Renaissance with his arrangement and performance of the "St Matthew Passion". It was revived for the first time in the Berlin Singakademie on 11 March 1829, one hundred years after its premiere in Leipzig's Thomaskirche. A second arrangement was performed in Leipzig in 1841.
