Description
Composed for the pedal harp, The Wet Garden is a piece written by Jacques de la Presle, dedicated to Marcel Grandjany. Introduced by a poem by Henri de Régnier which is about the falling rain and a wet garden, this piece starts by some natural harmonies symbolising the sound of the rain and some glissandi. The first movement then starts followed by some variations along the piece. Really lyrical, this work is a delight to play and to listen to but requires some advanced skills and a good technique to be interpreted perfectly. Jacques de la Presle (1888-1969) is a French professor and composer. He won the Second Prix de Rome and composed notable pieces for organ.
