Ravel: Sonata for Violin and Cello, M. 73

This four movement piece began as a single movement contribution to a 1920 issue of La Revue Musicale dedicated to Claude Debussy, who had recently died. Ravel went on to transform the idea into a four-movement work utilizing a more modern music vocabulary than is found in almost any other of his compositions.
