Description
Commissioned by Citimusic Cleveland Chamber Orchestra for a season titled Equality, Justice, Freedom. This three-movement work considering the emotions that are evoked by lack of equality (anger and frustration), seeking justice (which can be a hard path), and valuing freedom (honoring our selves and our history). Because of the subject the composer decided to have an instrument that usually plays a supporting role, the bass, become the main focus. The three movements are played without pause.
