Description
The word "arabesco" means whimsical ornamentation in the Arabic style; in the field of visual arts, it can designate a group of designs full of variations that are intertwined, forming groups like climbing plants. They extend in all directions infinitely, inviting the eye to move from one figure to another, as soon as it has perceived its outline. I used these notions as a theme for my piece, composing wavy lines, with slight oscillations. There are three main parts: the first extends to bar 53; the second to bar 77; and the third, which contains the climax, until the end. The indication "a little rubato", present in this last part, suggests a flexibility of tempo that adapts to each phrase, denoting anxiety, relaxation, drama, etc.
