This 20-minute symphony for winds was commissioned, premiered and recorded by the United States Marine Band in honor of the 225th anniversary. Set in three movements, the first movement is dramatic, fast and rhythmic. "Speedy Winds," the second movement, is a short, whirling showcase for the woodwinds. The final movement is a slow passacaglia based on on the hymn, "God of our Fathers," the official hymn of the US Military. The work ends with a solemn and moving statement of this hymn. This is the study score, sized at 9x12.
