Description
Turina's guitar compositions are among the most important works of the 20th century and form part of the standard repertoire of every concert guitarist. Up until now, however, these works have only appeared in the editions of the well-known guitarist Andrés Segovia who had arranged the works according to his personal needs, thus deviating from the original text in many details - notwithstanding all his merits earned for spreading Turina's music. for a long time, guitar players have asked for a carefully edited urtext edition which takes the composer's original text from the autograph into account. in cooperation with the Archivo Joaquin Turina (Madrid), Marian Alvarez has now prepared a reliable musical text for Turina's works for the first time, thus setting a new standard for the interpretation of these works. A detailed introduction to Turina's music and a comprehensive critical report provide the user with a completely new access to Turina's guitar music.
