Description
Since Leopold Nowak's publication of the 8th symphony in the first version, the conviction has prevailed that the versions represent valid works in their own right, which bear witness to the "change of concept" in Bruckner's symphony.
The first complete performance of Bruckner's VIII Symphony in the 1887 version took place in London on September 2, 1973, conducted by Hans-Hubert Schönzeler.
