Description

The Sonatina in G Major (app. 5, No. 1) is the first encounter with Beethoven's piano music for many aspiring piano players. One cannot even be sure whether it, like its sister work in F Major (app. 5, No. 2), was actually written by Beethoven. in the first edition, published after Beethoven's death, they are attributed to Beethoven and no alternative composer has yet been found. They have not lost any of their attractiveness in piano lessons.

Together with the Sonatina WoO 50, which Beethoven provided with fingerings for his friend Franz Gerhard Wegeler, the Wiener Urtext Edition publishes these small introductory works for Beethoven's piano works. This means that even beginners can musically congratulate Beethoven on his 250th birthday.
