Description
Lasse i Lyby was a fiddler in the southern part of Sweden. He was poor and was known for tuning down the strings on his violin to make them last slightly longer. He played this little waltz so often that it now bears his name. A waltz is also a dance in 3, No. 4 time – a strong beat followed by two weaker. Please note, that we made this arrangement with a very slow tempo in mind. Imagining the deep forests of Sweden and the lonely Lasse with his fiddle, we decided to slow down this waltz to the point of disintegration. Traditionally the Scandinavian waltz is played at a considerably faster tempo.
