Description
The STRING QUARTET IN E MINOR by Guiseppe Verdi (1813-1901) was composed in 1873, one year before his REQUIEM MASS. It was written in his Naples hotel room while awaiting the continuation of rehearsals for the performance of AIDA. The integrity of phrasing and articulation of the Urtext edition has been respected in this setting. It is hoped that this string orchestra version focuses more attention on Verdi's single contribution to the chamber music literature.
