Description
The main sources used for this Revised Augener edition are the first French editions published in Paris by Schlesinger (Impromtus nos. 1 and 3) and Troupenas (Impromptu No. 2). The Fantaisie, Op. 49 is based on a Schlesinger edition of 1841 and the Fantasie-Impromptu on that of Maissonier Fils (Paris 1855) with emendations from the autographed fair copy (1835) referred to in the Introduction. The first Augener edition was published in London in 1893.
